Hi Dave,
I bought a new 2001 at the end of last year - and I just put a Jardine on it. I love the fact that it hasn't backfired yet but it's 38 degrees out so I didn't ride far either. I was told that it will run "more lean" with this on which would mean more backfiring - I think? I'm new can you tell? I'm gonna have the guys at the shop check it when I get my first service at 500 miles. It's a little louder than I expected but the "putt, putt" is gone and now it sounds like a beast. All I can tell you on the re-jetting is every bike is different and you probably need to judge by the plug color - that's what I'm gonna do. I live at 4700 elevation so I was told that my bike should run a little rich if anything - and if that's true than I shouldn't have to do anything. We'll see I guess. Good luck and keep us all posted.
